Having been influenced by all genres throughout her life, Mercy was deeply influenced by the classic jazz singers such as Ella Fitzgerald, Billy Holiday, Dinah Washington, and Nina Simone to name a few. At 16, Mercy was gifted a Spanish guitar that broadened her musical horizon. She started writing music and signed a management deal at 17 where she polished her writing skills. Though her musical journey had many detours Mercy started performing all around Los Angeles perfecting her performance. Having released an EP “Have Mercy” in 2013, Mercy had a sudden halt and stopped performing. She took a break but came back stronger than ever attending the Musicians Institute in 2015 together with her music partner Art Bleek with whom she created “Sool”. Mercy also has a side project of her own called “Dimensions” coming out in 2018 reflecting the past two years of her life which were quite tumultuous but so rewarding.
